![]() The purpose of injection transformers is to accurately couple an oscillator signal into a feedback loop with minimum distortion and/or capacitive coupling. The transformers are designed to have low magnetizing current and flat coupling over the specified frequency ranges. The output impedance over the specified ranges is less than 10 ohms, except for the models 200-004/5 which has a constant output impedance of 100 ohms and the 200-000 which has an output impedance of 150 ohms. In general, the transformers are usable up to one decade below their frequency rating with reduced input voltage and up to two decades above the ratings if flatness of the injected signal is not a factor (which is the case in our Model 350 system). This injection transformer has a frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 100 Hz and is optimized to help measure the voltage loop in PFC supplies. It has an attenuation of 2.5 to 1, an output impedance of 150 ohms, and an isolation voltage of 2500 Volts. This allows the engineer to couple an AC signal into the feedback loop and measure the gain and phase versus frequency, which shows the stability of the loop.
